Welcome to Acrylic Pines!
Here at Acrylic Pines, we take art and design seriously. Art isn’t just for looks; it’s a way of living, it’s writing without words, and it’s the deepest devotion to expression. As Van Gogh said, “I put my heart and my soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process.”
But don’t you worry. Jackson Pollock assures us that “the strangeness will wear off”!
If you love art as much as I do (and know who Van Gogh and Pollock are), then you’re in the right place! My dream in life is to share my passion for art – and more specifically, for painting – and to instill an appreciation of art history in every visitor that peruses these virtual pages. Art history isn’t just about looking at an achromatic square of canvas, or learning about Gothic architecture; no, it’s much more than that. Art history is a reflection of the entire span of humanity, way back to when we didn’t have words to express ourselves – just images and impressions. Art history is learning about the world behind and in front of you – and learning about yourself.
At Acrylic Pines, you have the opportunity to cultivate your artistic talents through various courses in painting, drawing, art history, and design. If you feel like you can’t do art, don’t sweat it! We love art appreciators, too! You can purchase my own works or prints from the Shop. Many helpful and exciting resources are scattered liberally throughout the site, so please take a look around! There’s something for everybody.
I hope you find something you love, and thanks for visiting!
